It might sound funny but it is true, we brace ourselves for extra calls after major holidays as high call volume is expected after such holidays. Our customers have sent us many emails with the same question. How can I avoid back-ups after a party? Majority of our customers agreed with the following approach:
- Try to have a strainer placed in your kitchen sink. This will help you collect any food particles that make their way into your kichen sink drain. Often the clog is right in the trap under the kitchen sink and after a party it is almost certain that the trap will be filled with either food or sometimes straws and plstic knives.
- Remove all paper towels in and around your bathroom. Your guests may use them and flush them down the toilet, which would either clog up your toilet or end up clogging your sewer system. Its not polite to ask the guests to not to use paper towels, therefore its simpler to not have any paper towels or other thick napkins around the bathroom.
Frankly speaking, the kitchen sink and the toilet bowl are the major sources of not just after party clogs but majority of clogs. If you had similar issues after a party please share them with us.
